Please be sure to join us for NCPA’s Annual Conference for a stimulating discussion that will focus on the enhancement of "Main Street, CA" through local solutions to technological, economic, and environmental policy challenges. In an era of declining local budgets, growing resource costs, and increased scrutiny and demands from state and federal legislators and regulators, publicly owned utilities must navigate an ever-more complex environment in which to serve their communities. From issues such as renewable energy standards and energy storage, to cap-and-trade and many others, this year’s Annual Conference speakers will take on these issues with an eye towards local, mainstream solutions. Invited speakers include Carl Pope of the Sierra Club, Kathleen Brown of Goldman Sachs, Jon Wellinghoff of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), Ralph Cavanagh of the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), State Assemblyman Steven Bradford, State Senator Fran Pavley, and Dorothy Rothrock of the California Manufacturers and Technology Association (CMTA), among others.
This year’s Conference will be held at Silverado, 1600 Atlas Road, in Napa, California on September 22 – 24, 2010. Three hundred locally elected and appointed city officials, municipal utility managers, federal and state energy and public utility commissioners, and many special industry guests attend this annual event. Review our Draft Agenda and make your hotel reservation by August 22, 2010 to ensure you receive the group rate.
The annual Golf Tournament will be held on Wednesday morning, September 22nd at the Silverado Golf Course. Registration and breakfast begin at 7:30am with a shotgun start at 8:30am.
Sponsorships for this event are the reason the conference has evolved into a very successful and high quality event. An organization sponsoring $2,500 will receive one free registration to the Annual Conference. If $4,000 is sponsored, two complimentary registrations will be given. Three complimentary registrations will be given to those who sponsor $5,500 and above. NCPA is a not-for-profit public agency and does not profit from the Annual Conference. All contributions are greatly appreciated by all who attend.
