Ukiah Public Utilities is Mendocino County’s only customer-owned utility, supplying electricity, water and wastewater treatment to more than 15,000 residents and businesses.

The Electric Division for Ukiah Public Utilities oversees the procurement of wholesale power, maintains and operates the local electric distribution system, is involved in engineering and advanced planning for improvements, replacement and expansion of the distribution system, maintenance and operation of Ukiah’s street lighting system and traffic signals, and operation and maintenance of the Lake Mendocino Hydroelectric Plant. The City of Ukiah is committed to providing environmentally friendly electric power to its customers.  Renewable energy generation and hydroelectric plants provide almost 80% of Ukiah’s power.
